Purchase and activate a Runtime target license

A license is assigned to one Runtime target device, not to an App. Copying license content does not transfer authorization to another device. You do not need a Runtime target license to open or edit a project. Production Start, Debug, and Motion use require a valid license with the appropriate capabilities.

When you need a license

  • A new target is being prepared for production.
  • Start or Debug reports a license problem.
  • The App uses Pulsar Motion, or needs more axes than the current license allows.
  • The license is near expiry, or a device repair or replacement changed the target identity.
  • Trial verification is complete and the site is ready for handoff.

View license status

  1. Open System Settings → Runtime.
  2. Select the target and verify its name and address.
  3. Connect with an account belonging to that target. Viewing status requires a valid target session; installing a license requires Admin.
  4. Open License in the target details.

Check these items:

StatusMeaning
ValidThe current license has been accepted on this target; also verify its capabilities and expiry
Trial · time remainingThe current run is using a temporary trial and is not suitable for continuous production
Activation requiredNo license is available for production use
Device identityThe activation request and issued license must belong to this target
Theseus EngineProduction Start and Debug should show Licensed
Pulsar Motion / axesMotion must be licensed, with enough axes for the App configuration

If the target cannot export an activation request, ask the target administrator to check the device configuration and permissions. Do not copy identity or license content from another machine.

Purchase a license

Personal accounts and organizations have separate license inventories. Before purchasing, confirm the owner, capabilities, validity, quantity, and Motion axis count.

  1. Sign in to Qixin Portal. For a personal purchase, open personal Licenses. For an organization purchase, open the correct organization and then its Licenses area.
  2. Open License plans and choose a plan that meets the Theseus Engine, Pulsar Motion, axis-count, validity, and quantity requirements.
  3. Create the order and complete payment or provide the information requested by Portal.
  4. Wait for the order to show as paid, then confirm that available quantity has increased.
  5. Create an activation for the target device.

Organization membership controls access to organization inventory. Runtime target Admin controls installation on the target. These permissions do not replace each other. If the owner, payment, or contract information is unexpected, stop and correct it before continuing.

Export, issue, and install

Use the same explicit workflow whether the target site is online or offline:

  1. Under System Settings → Runtime → License, select Export request.
  2. Verify that the request came from the correct target, then transfer it through an approved secure channel to the person who can access Portal.
  3. In the correct personal or organization Licenses area, upload the complete request and select the required plan and available quantity.
  4. Download the complete license issued for that target.
  5. Return to the same target that exported the request and paste the complete license content into its License card.
  6. Connect as target Admin, select Install License, wait for confirmation, and refresh status.

At an offline site, use approved media to transfer the request and license between the site and a computer that can reach Portal. Do not edit, split, or rebuild either item. Do not place them in an App project, Git repository, public support attachment, or AI conversation.

Understand trial use

When a license is missing, invalid, or expired, Start or Debug may begin a one-hour trial. The License card shows the remaining time only while that trial is running. Stop, a failed start, or a runtime fault ends the current trial.

The Runtime target stops the current App after the trial expires. Trial use is not a production continuity plan. An installed license without Theseus Engine permission blocks Start and Debug; Motion is checked separately for capability and axis count.

Verify activation

After installation succeeds, verify the following in order:

  1. The badge is Valid, not Trial or Activation required.
  2. The device identity, License ID, customer, expiry, and order match the delivery record.
  3. Theseus Engine is Licensed.
  4. If the App uses Motion, Pulsar Motion is licensed and the axis count covers the App configuration.
  5. Start and Stop the correct App once. Verify Debug only when it is part of the handoff.
  6. Follow the site's change procedure to restart the target device, refresh the License card, and confirm that the valid status remains.

A valid license does not replace equipment, Safety, network, and recovery acceptance.

Replace or stop using a license

Installing a newer valid license replaces the previous license on the target. A target may reject an older authorization when a newer one is already installed. Return to Portal and issue a current license for the same target; do not edit license content or restore an old file.

Ending an activation in Portal might not immediately stop an already installed offline license, and might not return consumed quantity. If site use must stop immediately, connect to the correct target, Stop it under the approved site procedure, and control target access.

If a product upgrade reports that the installed license is no longer compatible, export a current activation request and obtain a new license from Portal. Do not attempt to convert old content.

Common issues

License status does not load

Verify that the correct target is selected, reachable, and connected with a valid target session. Then refresh or retry. Use a trusted secure connection for remote management.

The card still shows “Activation required”

Confirm that the complete license was pasted, that it belongs to the current device, and that it has not expired. Refresh status. If the problem remains, preserve the original error and ask the license owner to check the activation in Portal; do not edit the license.

The card is “Valid,” but Engine or Motion is unavailable

The selected plan might not include the required capability, or the Motion axis count might be too low. Ask the license owner to compare the order with the actual App configuration and issue a matching license for the same target.

Portal shows no available licenses

Check the Qixin account, personal or organization scope, order status, available quantity, and organization membership. Contact the organization OWNER, ADMIN, or license owner when needed.

Status is visible, but installation is unavailable

The current target session is not Admin. Reconnect as described in Runtime target accounts and permissions. Qixin sign-in cannot replace target Admin.

AI and human responsibility

AI can organize checks from non-sensitive status that you provide manually, but it should not purchase, assign, or install licenses. Do not provide AI with license content, account credentials, a complete device identity, private order details, or payment information.

A person must confirm that the target device, personal or organization ownership, plan, quantity, validity, customer, and Motion axis count match the contract and delivery scope. Transfer and archive activation materials only through approved secure channels.
