Runtime target license management

A license belongs to the current Runtime target, not to the app project on the editor computer. After switching targets, the License page reads and changes the newly selected target.

When to use this page

  • Start or Debug is blocked by licensing.
  • Motion is unavailable or its permitted axis count does not fit the project.
  • A new machine needs online or offline activation.
  • Delivery requires verification of customer, expiry, and target Machine ID.

Where to go

  1. Connect the correct target in Manage Runtime Targets. Updating a license requires a target Admin.
  2. Open System Settings → Runtime → License.
  3. Review Machine ID, status, customer, expiry, Theseus Engine, Pulsar Motion, and maximum axes.

Licensed capabilities

Page itemUser meaning
Theseus EngineWhether apps may start and debug under a production license
Pulsar MotionWhether Motion is licensed for production use
Pulsar max axesMaximum axis count allowed by the license
Expires atWhen renewal or a replacement license is required

Use the state shown for the current target. Do not infer it from another machine or an old screenshot.

Online activation

Use online activation when the target is connected and the current account has an available license.

  1. Verify the current Runtime target and Machine ID.
  2. Select Online activation.
  3. If prompted, choose Sign in with Qixin and complete sign-in.
  4. Review the SKU, validity, Pulsar axis limit, and available quantity.
  5. Select Activate. If the machine already has an assignment, choose Install existing license.
  6. Wait for success, refresh status, and verify every capability.

Offline activation

Use offline activation when the target cannot reach the online service.

  1. Select Export activation request.
  2. Send the request file to the licensing owner. Do not edit its Machine ID.
  3. Receive the issued license content and return to the License page for the same Runtime target.
  4. Paste the complete content under License key and select Update License.
  5. Refresh and verify License ID, customer, expiry, and capabilities.

Trial state

Without a valid license, the page shows trial status and remaining time. A RuntimeHost trial run window lasts one hour. At expiry, running and debugging apps stop and new starts are rejected.

Trial is for evaluation and debugging, not production delivery. Install a valid license and test restart and recovery before handoff.

What success looks like

  • Status is Valid, and Machine ID matches the target machine.
  • Theseus Engine and required Motion capabilities are available.
  • Pulsar max axes is at least the configured axis count.
  • Customer and expiry match the order.
  • Start, Debug, and Motion no longer report license errors.

Common issues

Online activation shows no available licenses

Confirm the Qixin account, then ask the licensing administrator to check quantity, validity, and account ownership.

The license remains Invalid after installation

Check whether the Runtime target changed, whether the license was issued for the current Machine ID, whether all content was pasted, and whether it has expired.

Theseus Engine is available, but Motion is not

The license may not include Pulsar Motion, or the project may exceed its axis limit. Activate a matching SKU.

I can read a remote target license but cannot update it

Reconnect with a target Admin and confirm that remote management uses a secure connection.

How AI can help

AI can explain non-sensitive status, prepare a handoff checklist, and organize an error message. For example:

From the non-sensitive fields on the current License page, list possible reasons Motion is unavailable and give me a human verification order. Do not read or paste license content and do not activate anything.

Do not send license content, account credentials, or a complete Machine ID to AI.

What a person must confirm

  • The operation targets the correct Runtime target and Machine ID.
  • SKU, customer, validity, and Pulsar axis count match the contract.
  • An authorized owner approves online binding or offline issuance.
  • Activation requests and license content travel through an approved secure channel and are recorded.
